Masseria Aprile was built in 1700 and completely renovated in 1992, preserving its original features. It is one of the most important and famous farms of the surroundings, surrounded by greenery, far from the traffic and noise; in practice it is the ideal place to spend a holiday in complete tranquility, in the heart of nature.
Masseria Aprile covers an area of 25 hectares and consists of the main house, a large farmyard, vast pastures surrounded by vast woods, practicable on foot, an olive grove, the vineyard, some 17th century trulli, stables, courtyard with chickens and hens, and even a church. In the garden guests will find a hot tub.
Breakfast, consisting of food produced directly in the farm, during winter is served in an old shed for a buggy, duly restored.m During the summer or in warm weather breakfast is served on the adjacent panoramic terrace.
The owners also organize tastings of typical products with guided tour of the farm and guests can also buy the typical products of the farm, such as extra virgin olive oil, wine and jams.
Accommodation consists of some rooms in the old manor house, occupied by the owners as well as two apartments in trullo, three small apartments with typical vaults and two with "cummersa", the typical sloping roof. They are all equipped with kitchenette, private bathroom, heating, free Wi-fi and TV.
The historic centre of Locorotondo is a stone's throw from the hotel and is characterized by the presence of long, narrow alleys where you guests can find small churches up to arrive in the eighteenth-century Church of San Giorgio Martire, which preserves precious bas-reliefs of the fourteenth century. Worth seeing are also Palazzo De Bernardis and the Church of Madonna della Greca.
From Locorotondo they can easily reach other towns of Itria Valley and Salento: Martina Franca, Alberobello, Fasano with the Safari Park and the remains of the ancient Egnatia, Castellana Grotte, Ostuni.
