The Bed and Breakfast Da Nonna Elisa is surrounded by the quiet of the village and is the ideal place to stay in the tranquillity of the mountains of the Daunia. The cosy B&B features typical local style, elegantly furnished: on the ground floor there is a large breakfast room characterized by vaults of stone, on the first and second floors are the guest rooms.
Da Nonna Elisa has three rooms: "Girasole", the double, "Poppy", the single, and "Rose", the four-bed room. The rooms are all equipped with private bathroom, Wi-Fi and air conditioning.
The village of Roseto Valfortore has ancient origins and in the old town you can still breathe the medieval atmosphere of its foundation, which re-emerges in the narrow alleys, called "Stréttole", which start from a main road called Piazza Vecchia and are arranged according to a technique that alternates wider lanes, from which departed the staircases of the houses, with tight alleys, in which the rainwater was collected.
You can admire some buildings of great architectural worth, including the Tower of the medieval castle, several noble palaces, such as the Marquisal Palace, an ancient fountain and the Mother Church, built in 1507 by the will of the feudal Bartolomeo III di Capua. In front of the main staircase of the Mother Church there is the Arco della Terra, that certainly acted as the main gate. In the surroundings of the village, the water mills, built on the banks of the Fortore, are also worth a visit.
In these mills there is the Museo di Arte Antica, which preserves objects and tools that testify the uses and habits of the local populations.
For lovers of nature, not to be missed is the Osservatorio di Ecologia Appenninica, ideal place to discover fauna and flora of the Apennino Dauno.
