The origins of Apricena are very old: an inscription placed on a medieval gate recalls that the village already existed in the 8th century. Worth seeing are the Baronial Palace, dating from the second half of the ' 600 and rebuilt on the ancient domus federiciana, the seventh-century bas relief of the Madonna col Bambino Gesù kept in the Mother Church, but coming from the Church of San Martino, fell during the earthquake of 1627 and not rebuilt.
Outside the town, a few kilometers away, guests can see what remains of the Madonna della Rocca site, nestled among the thick vegetation. From its hill you can enjoy the magnificent surrounding landscape stretching from the Lake of Lesina to the Adriatic Sea.
